Saints Athletics at The College of St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. – In its first home opener since the 2004 season, the St. Scholastica volleyball team swept all three matches of its own tournament on Wednesday at Reif Gymnasium.

Duluth, Minn. – Three of St. Scholastica's six Fall sports teams will open their seasons Wednesday at home, as men's and women's soccer play host to the Macalester College Scots and volleyball hosts Augsburg, Wis.-Superior, and Northland in a mini-tournament.

ST. PAUL -- Momentum is swaying towards the College of St. Scholastica. After winning the 2009 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Volleyball Tournament in November, the Saints are the league coaches’ preseason prediction to win the conference title in 2010. St. Scholastica edged last year’s regular season champion, Northwestern College, by a point in the poll, earning four first place votes.

ST. PAUL -- For the first time in the history of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), the league will conduct a live online chat with all eight of its head volleyball coaches on Thursday, August 26 beginning at 9:45 a.m. Four coaches will each fill two half-hour sessions that will lead up to the announcement of the UMAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll results on www.umacathletics.com.
