MORRIS, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team saw its six-match win streak come to an end tonight with a 3-0 loss at the University of Minnesota-Morris.

The Saints fall to 13-12 overall and 7-3 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Cougars improve to 12-13 overall and 6-4 in the conference. Morris snaps a nine-match losing streak against CSS.

Morris jumped right out of the gate and got on top of the Saints in the first set. The Cougars built a 13-3 lead and went on to win 25-13. The second set was much closer as the Saints held a 20-16 lead, but the Cougars responded to tie it at 21-21. CSS then had a 23-21 lead, but Morris scored the next four points to take the second set 25-21.

St. Scholastica was looking for the magic it had against Morris earlier this season, coming back from a two-set deficit to win. However, that would not be the case tonight as the Cougars built a big lead and went on to win 25-10.

Paige Hardy (Fr.-Hibbing, Minn.) led the Saints with eight kills. Sarah Kurtovich (Fr.-Andover, Minn.) had a team-high 19 set assists.

The will Saints will play their final road match of the regular season tomorrow when they play at Presentation College. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
