DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men’s soccer team closed out the regular season with a victory over the Northland College LumberJacks on Saints Field Friday afternoon by a final score of 6-0. 

Goalkeeper Sam Reed (So.-Eastbourne, England) earned his 14th career shutout in the match, as well as his first career goal on a penalty kick. Adding his two assists, Reed finished with four points on the afternoon. 

Forward Erik Trochimchuk (Fr.-Thunder Bay, Ont.) started the scoring off for the Saints, earning the first two goals of the contest. The first was assisted by Reed and Toby Peter (Jr.-Spalt Germany), while the second was helped by Peter and Cody Sveiven (Jr.-Coon Rapids, Minn.). 

Dustin James (Jr.-Superior, Wis.) netted the Saints third goal off a Jermaine Dacres (Jr.-Nottingham, England) corner kick. 

The second half saw Courtney Bonnick (So.-Nottingham, England) score three points with a goal and an assist, while Josh Odukomaya (Fr.-White City, Sask.) and Andrew Ndekwe (Jr.-Minneapolis, Minn.) each got in on the scoring as well with a goal and an assist, respectively. 

The Saints finished with 48 shots, including 29 on net. Reed saved all three of the LumberJacks’ shots on the afternoon.

The Saints will host a UMAC Tournament semifinal match on Tuesday. CSS will either face Northwestern College or Crown College. The kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. at Saints Field and can be seen live pending weather, courtesy of the iFan Sports Network, at csssaints.com.
