ST. PAUL – St. Scholastica freshman #Paige Hardy# (
Fr.-Hibbing, Minn.) and senior #Megan Baartman# (
Sr.-Andover, Minn.) were first team selections to the All-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Volleyball team; it was announced today by UMAC Sports Information Director Greg Johnson.
Hardy was also named the conference's Rookie of the Year. Hardy led the Saints with 355 kills and was second on the team with 451 digs.
Baartman is a first team selection for the first time in her career. She was third on the squad with 219 kills and led the team with a .231 attack percentage.
Freshman #Sarah Kurtovich# (
Fr.-Andover, Minn.) and senior #Rebecca Udermann# (
Sr.-Rosemount, Minn.) were honorable mention selections.
Kurtovich became the team's primary setter in the middle of the season and had 729 set assists for the year, which was second-most in the conference. She also led the team with 37 service aces.
Udermann earns honorable mention honors for the first time. Udermann was second on the team with 282 kills and led the squad with 70 total blocks. Udermann carried the Saints to a UMAC Tournament championship with a career-high 24 kills in her final match.
Northwestern College swept the other awards as Steph Koth was named the Player of the Year. Kelsey Korporal was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Beth Wilmeth was the Coach of the Year.
