PETER NAMED SECOND TEAM ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica men's soccer junior #Toby Peter# (Jr.-Spalt, Germany/J.S. Bach) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America College Division Second Team; it was announced today.

Peter, who was just named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Year for a second time, becomes the first CSS athlete to earn CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American honors.

Peter has a 3.96 cumulative grade-point-average and majors in History and Economics. He was a first team academic all-region selection, which led him to be in consideration for All-American accolades.

Peter led the Saints this season with 28 points this season on six goals and 16 assists. The 16 assists was St. Scholastica season record. He was also a key component to the team's UMAC Tournament Championship.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
