NSCAA Scholar All-Central Region Teams
DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica women's soccer senior #Cortney McKenzie# (
Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-Central Region third team; it was announced recently.
McKenzie earns third team accolades after being named honorable mention last year. McKenzie, who is a Physical Therapy major, has a 3.4 grade-point-average. McKenzie earned first team All-UMAC laurels for the third time in her career this past season as she spearheaded a defense that allowed a league-low 15 goals.
Three Saint seniors earned scholar all-region honorable mention accolades in #Abby Arrowsmith# (
Sr.-Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine), #Jen Krokum# (
Sr.-Duluth, Minn./East), and #Beth Flesvig# (
Sr.-Proctor, Minn.). Krokum was also an honorable mention selection last season. All three have over a 3.6 grade-point-average.
To be nominated for consideration, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution and either be in their second year at the current school if a transfer student.
Earlier this month, the St. Scholastica women's soccer team received the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 10th straight year.
