NABC Honors Court Press Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Six St. Scholastica men’s basketball players have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for the 2008-09 season; it was announced yesterday.
This is the second straight year the Saints have had six players named to the Honors Court.
Seniors
Kyle Allen (
Sr.-Black River Falls, Wis.) and
Jesse Taylor (
Sr.-Superior, Wis./Maranatha Academy) earn the honor for a third straight year, while senior
Mike MacDonald (
Sr.-Two Harbors, Minn.) and junior
Max Dibrell (
Jr.-Duluth, Minn./East) earned the honor for a second straight year.
Allen is an Education major, MacDonald is a Music Education major, and Taylor is an Elementary Education major. Dibrell is a Marketing/Management major.
Derek Anderson (
So.-Cook, Minn.) and
Logan Schultz (
So.-Perham, Minn.) were the final two Saints to be named to the Honors Court. Anderson is a secondary education major and Schultz is an Elementary Education major.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2008-09 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Institution.
