PREVIEW: SOCCER TEAMS GO ON THE ROAD FOR UMAC PLAY

DULUTH, Minn. – The Saints men's and women's soccer teams continue Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play as they travel to Presentation College on Saturday and University of Minnesota-Morris on Sunday.

Game Times:
Saturday @ Presentation – Men @ Noon; Women @ 2 p.m.
Sunday @ Morris – Men @ Noon; Women @ 2 p.m.

Men's Soccer:


Last Action: In the Saints' last game; they faced off against 13th ranked UW-Oshkosh. Evan Maly would score the lone goal for the Titans in the 83rd minute to win the game 1-0. The loss for the Saints ended an 11-game unbeaten streak.

St. Scholastica Saints (10-3-1, 7-0-1 UMAC)
The Saints have five players who have four goals or more on the year … Senior captain #Jermaine Dacres# is CSS's leading point getter with 10 goals and six assists to give him 26 points… #Cody Sveiven# has nine goals and six assists for 24 points … Sveiven was named the UMAC Offensive Player of the week this week … #Brandon Stemwedel# is the team leader in assists with eight … Goalkeeper #Sam Reed# has given up only six goals in 13 games played, and has a goals against average of 0.46.

Presentation Saints (4-9-0. 2-6-0 UMAC)
Only three players have scored goals on the year and five players have contributed to scoring points. Lance Mohr is the team leader in goals, assists and points with four goals, two assists and ten points respectively. Goalkeeper Joe Romero has a goals against average of 4.71.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. Presentation: 14-2-1)
The Saints beat Presentation earlier in the year at Saints field by a score of 11-0. In that game the Saints set program records for goals, assists and points in a game before breaking those records again last weekend vs. Northland. In the victory Sveiven scored four goals off the bench and Dacres netted a hat trick. For Reed it was his fifth shutout victory of the year and 20th of his career.

University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars (7-3-3, 6-1-1 UMAC)
The Cougars enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak … 12 different Cougars have scored goals this season … Toby Glaser is the team leader in goals (6), assists (3), and points (15)Tyler Simpson has come on of late to emerge as the teams primary goalkeeper. Simpson has a 0.34 goals-against-average.

Last Action:
The women continued their shutout streak as they beat Northland 3-0 this past weekend. #Shannon Carlson#, #Hannah Roy# and #Nicole Brandt# did the scoring for the Saints as #Bailey Mahlum# was in net for her fourth straight shutout.

St. Scholastica Saints (7-4-1, 7-0-1 UMAC)
The women have not been scored on for 606 minutes and seven seconds. University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars (5-6-2, 4-2-2 UMAC)
The Cougars are on a two-game winning streak entering the weekend … In its last two games Minnesota-Morris defeated Presentation both times. Outscoring the Saints 15-0 in the two games … Leah Parker is leading the Cougars and is second in the UMAC with eight goals on the year…Meehan is tied with Bergstrom for the team lead in assists with five…Jacobs has already logged almost 1,100 minutes so far in the net in twelve games and has a goals against average of 1.16.
