NEGAUNEE, Mich. – The St. Scholastica men's Nordic skiing team placed fifth out of eight teams in the 10km Classic race at today's Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Ski Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan University.

#Kasey Bacso# (Fr.-Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) led the Saints with a 15th place finish in a time of 28:19 seconds, 1:39 seconds behind winner Oskar Lund of Michigan Tech. #Waylon Manske# (Jr.-Bemidji, Minn.) placed 20th overall with a time of 28:39.3 seconds.

#Mason Bacso# (Jr.-Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) was the third CSS finisher and the final points producer, placing 24th overall with a time of 2:27.9 seconds.

Michigan Tech finished first with 83 points. Northern Michigan was second with 77 points. Alaska-Fairbanks was third with 65 points and UW-Green Bay was fourth with 56 points. CSS was fifth with 49 points.

Action continues tomorrow with the 20k freestyle race that will begin approximately at noon.
