SAINTS ARE IN PLAYOFFS, CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON ON ROAD

Duluth, Minn.- The Saints have clinched a playoff spot, and close out the regular season against conference teams, Martin Luther and Bethany Lutheran. The Saints play at Bethany Lutheran Friday night at 5:30 p.m. and at Martin Luther Saturday night for the last game of the regular season at 3 p.m.

St. Scholastica Saints ( 6-6 UMAC, 11-12 Overall)
Bethany Lutheran Vikings ( 4-8 UMAC, 9-14 Overall)
Martin Luther Knights ( 5-7 UMAC, 9-13 Overall)

Last Action
: All three teams last played on Saturday afternoon. The Saints finished out their regular season home schedule with a 69-51 win over Northwestern. #Erin Morstad# ( Fergus Falls, Minn.) scored a career-high 15 points to lead the way for the Saints. #Kelly Cinquerani# (Buffalo, Minn.) had a team-high nine rebounds. The Knights won a close one 56-53 over Presentation College. Katherine Kogler had a team 16 points to lead the Knights. Bethany Lutheran lost their last game to the University of Minnesota-Morris 83-70. Nicole Jones had a team-high 21 points and six rebounds.

St. Scholastica Saints: The Saints have won four of six to give themselves a playoff spot. The Saints can get the #3, 4, 5 of 6 seed depending on conference play this weekend. #Kirsten Haukom #(Marshall, Minn.) has gone over 1,000 points for her career so far this year, and is the UMAC's fifth leading scorer on the year at 12.5 points per game. Haukom has scored in double figures in 13 of her last 14 games. Haukom is also averaging a team-high six rebounds per game…As a team the Saints are averaging 64 points per game.

Bethany Lutheran Vikings: The Vikings need to win to secure a spot in the playoffs. They could get the #4,5 or 6 seed or not make it at all to the playoffs depending on UMAC play this weekend. The Vikings are led by three double digit scorers. Anna Cepek, Nicole Jones and Caitlyn Meyer at 12.2, 11.4, and 10 points per game respectively. Cepek and Jones are also the team's leading rebounders at six boards per game…Jones is averaging 14.6 points and seven rebounds per game over her last five to lead her team. Overall as a team the Vikings are averaging 67.2 points per game.

Martin Luther Knights: The Knights are in the same boat as the Vikings. They need to win to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Vikings could finish with the #,3, 4 ,5 or 6 seed or not make the playoffs at all depending on the games this weekend. The Knights are led by three players in double figures. Erica Babinec, Sarah Free and Katherine Kogler at 14.1, 11.5 and 10.6 points per game…Babinec is third in the UMAC for scoring. She is also the team's leading rebounder as well, with 6.3 rebounds per game, ranking her fifth in the UMAC. She is averaging 16 points per and 7.5 rebounds per game over her last four. As a team the Knights are averaging 60 points per game.

Last Meetings: The Saints saw a four point halftime lead disappear in their last game against Martin Luther, and ended up losing 64-56. Haukom and #Bri Allen# (West St. Paul, Minn.) had 11 points. Babinec had a career-high 34 points in the win.

The Saints beat the Vikings the following night 73-55. CSS had a one point lead at halftime before breaking the game wide open in the second. The Saints had four scorers in double figures, with Allen leading the way with 18 points. Haukom added 14 points and nine rebounds. Nicole Jones led BLC and the game with 20 points.
