ST. PAUL – For the second consecutive week, St. Scholastica senior goaltender
Zach Kleiman (
Sr.-Ottawa, Ont.) has been named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Player of the Week; it was announced today by NCHA Sports Information Director Brian Monahan.
Kleiman stopped a combined 78 shots and posted two shutouts this past weekend as the Saints defeated 14th-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls 6-0 on Friday night and the University of Wisconsin-Stout 3-0 on Saturday.
Against the Falcons on Friday, Kleiman stopped 37 shots and two power-play attempts. On Saturday, he stopped 41 shots and a total of eight Blue Devil power-play attempts. In his last 207 minutes of action Kleiman has allowed only one goal and has made 127 saves.
Kleiman and the fourth-ranked Saints will host third-ranked St. Norbert College on Friday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.
