MINNEAPOLIS – The St. Scholastica hockey team dropped one spot for the second consecutive week to No. 6 in the most recent U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III poll that was released today.

Middlebury College, who was sixth last week, moves to No. 5 this week. St. Norbert College, who had the weekend off due to the bye, remained at No. 3 and CSS's opponent in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Peters Cup semifinals, Wisconsin-River Falls, remained at No. 15.

The Saints have been ranked in the USCHO Division III poll for 28 straight weeks and have been in the top 10 for 26 of those 28 weeks. The only time CSS has been ranked outside of the top 10 this season was in the preseason poll. Prior to this run, the Saints had only been ranked in the top 10 on two occasions in a NCAA Division III poll.

The Saints are coming off a hard-fought series win over bitter-rival Wisconsin-Superior. Both games ended in ties, 4-4 Friday night and 3-3 Saturday night. The dreaded 20-minute mini-game also was scoreless, so it came down to #Jeremy Dawes#' (So.-Winnipeg, Man.) goal just 1:04 into the first sudden death overtime period to give the Saints the series win.

From here on out, the games are one-game series. The Saints and Falcons will look to break a virtual season series tie on Saturday night at Mars Lakeview Arena. The Falcons won the first match-up 5-0. The teams skated to a 5-5 draw in the second game and the Saints took round three 6-0.

The action gets underway at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night at Mars Lakeview Arena. It will be broadcasted live on ESPN Radio 560-WEBC and can be seen on the web, courtesy of the iFan Sports Network, at csssaints.com.
