TESTER NAMED UMAC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

ST. PAUL – #Brett Tester# (Fr.-Andover, Minn.) has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference's (UMAC) Freshman of the Year; it was announced today by UMAC Sports Information Director Greg Johnson.

Tester becomes the first Saints player to be named the conference's freshman of the year. He was also an honorable mention All-UMAC choice. Tester averages 11.8 points per game and leads the team with 4.6 rebounds per contest. He shoots 51-percent from the floor, which was fifth-best in the league and shot 77-percent from the free throw line, which was also fifth-best in the conference.

#Danny Schmitz# (Jr.-Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson) was named second team all-conference after a first team selection last season. He leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points per game and is second in conference with an average of 33 minutes of playing time per game.

#Max Dibrell# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./East) earned a spot on the UMAC All-Defensive team. Dibrell is seventh in the conference with 44 steals and constantly harasses opposing guards.

Tommy Saffert of Bethany Lutheran College was named the UMAC Player of the Year and Tim Grosz of Northwestern College was the Coach of the Year.
