WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO UNDEFEATED KNIGHTS

ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. Scholastica women’s tennis team was defeated by State University of New York (SUNY)-Geneseo 7-2 this afternoon.

The Saints fall to 4-6 this spring season and 5-6 overall, while the Knights improve to 13-0 on the year. SUNY-Geneseo is ranked 13th in the northeast region, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional rankings.

CSS was in all three doubles matches, but Geneseo pulled them all out by two games. In singles play, Callee Conda (Jr.-Hibbing, Minn.) won at the No. 2 spot, rallying for a 3-6, 7-5 (11-9) victory. Kelly Ross (Sr.-Buffalo, Minn.) was other Saint to win as she took care of business at the No. 4 spot, winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Danni Sonnenfeld (Jr.-Harris, Minn./North Branch) fell in a tight match at the No. 3 position 3-6, 6-4, (14-12).

The Saints will play their final match in Florida on Friday when they face Franklin & Marshall College (Pa.) at 11 a.m.
