DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica senior #Jordan Chong# (Sr.-North Vancouver, B.C.) has been named a first team West Region U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) All-Star; it was announced on Monday.

Chong was named an American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA)/RBK Hockey College Division West Region First Team All-American a little less than a month ago, becoming the first CSS player since 1986 to earn first team status. He is the first CSS player to be named a USCHO First Team All-Star.

Chong was one of the best players in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) this past season. He led the conference, averaging 1.32 points per game, finished second in the league with 17 goals, and tied for third with 20 assists.

Chong finished tied for second in all of Division III hockey with six game-winning goals and four short-handed goals.

At one point, he scored at least one goal in eight straight games. After a slow start to the year, which saw him register just two points in the first seven games, Chong scored at least one point in 13 of the final 21 games.

Chong made things happen on the ice throughout his career as he finished with 46 career goals and 44 assists for 90 points. His six game-winning and four short-handed goals this season both tied program records for a season and his 12 career game-winning goals also tied a team record. His goals and assists numbers improved in each of his four seasons.

Also getting recognition by the USCHO was freshman #Tyler Miller# (Fr.-Fort Frances, Ont.), who received honorable mention west region rookie team accolades. Miller finished tied for eighth in the NCHA with 16 assists and was 16th with 0.85 points per game.

David Martinson of Gustavus Adolphus College was named the USCHO Division III Player of the Year, while Mike McShane of Norwich University was the Coach of the Year.
