DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica senior pitcher #Jeff Adams# (Sr.-Two Harbors, Minn.) has been named a second team All-American by D3baseball.com; it was announced late Tuesday night.

Adams, who was a first team All-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) selection for the first time in his career, went 8-1 this season, including winning his first eight decisions. He struck out 42 batters, while allowing just 40 hits in 51.2 innings pitched.

He was best in the league with a 0.98 earned run average and .160 opponents batting average during the regular season. He is ranked 35th in the nation with a 2.44 earned run average and is 27th with 6.96 hits allowed per nine innings.

This is the second straight year a Saints pitcher has earned some sort of D3baseball.com postseason accolade as Adian Kummet (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS) was an honorable mention choice last season.

Fellow UMAC pitcher Cody Hallahan from Bethany Lutheran was also named to the second team. University of St. Thomas pitcher Matt Schuld was named the Pitcher of the Year.
