ST. PAUL – The St. Scholastica track & field team or should I say the Scholastica track & field team competed at the Meet of the UnSaintly, hosted by Hamline University on Saturday.

Scholastica, along with a few other schools, had to drop Saint from its name to stay true to the meet's name. The Saints sent only about 20 members to compete today.

The Saints had two records fall on the day, both on the women's side. The 4x400-meter relay team of #Stacey Peterson# (Sr.-Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert), #Hallie Miller# (Fr.-Cologne, Minn./Waconia), #Nikki Hughes# (So.-South Range, Wis./Northwestern), and #Jennifer Plaetz# (So.-Lucan, Minn./Wabasso) became the first 4x4 team in program history to finish in under four minutes with a time of 3:58.31 seconds to place second, beating out the University of Minnesota.

#Rachel Miller# (Fr.-Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson) obliterated her own school record in the triple jump with a leap of 36'-4” (11.07m) to finish second in that event. Miller also won the javelin throw with a toss of 102'-4” (31.20m).

Other CSS women performing well include #Alec Seeley# (So.-Cadott, Wis.), who finished second in the hammer throw with a distance of 147'-4” (44.91m). Stacey Peterson (Gilbert, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) finished second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.52 seconds. Jennifer Plaetz (Lucan, Minn./Wabasso HS) was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:07.04 seconds and Nikki Hughes (South Range, Wis./Northwestern HS) was sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.83 seconds.

Top performers on the men's side include #Justin Hanson# (Fr.-Atwater, Minn./Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City), who was seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.03 seconds and eighth in the 110-hurdles with a time of 16.10 seconds.

#Tony Evans# (Jr.-New Richmond, Wis.) was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 150'-4” (45.83m). #Shane Dombrovski# (Fr.-Foley, Minn.) was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 42'-10.75” (13.07m). #Josh Ditsworth# (Jr.-North Branch, Minn.) had a career-best toss in the hammer throw at 149'8” (45.63m). #John Howard# (Jr.-Elk River, Minn.) finished eighth in the discus with a distance of 134'-6” (41.01m).

The Saints will compete at the Eagle Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday night and then compete at the Winona Open on Saturday.
