WOMEN’S SOCCER CAPS RECRUITING CLASS

2010 Schedule

DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica head women's soccer coach Dave Reyelts has announced that Fargo South's Lauryn Wilson (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South HS) and Eau Claire Memorial's Taylor Cunningham (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) both plan on playing for the Saints this upcoming fall.

Wilson, a midfielder, has been part of two state championship teams at Fargo South. She has earned all-conference laurels in 2009 and 2010 and was team captain this past season. She has played for the Red River Soccer Club for the past 10 years and has been a part of six straight North Dakota State Championship squads. The team has made three straight USA Club Regional Tournament appearances.

Wilson, who is the younger sister of former Saints player and current graduate assistant coach Alyssa Wilson, was also an All-State performer in both cross country and track. She has also won team and solo awards in dance competitions.

Cunningham, a midfielder, was a first team All-Big Rivers selection in 2010, a second team choice in 2009, and honorable mention in 2008. Cunningham was also selected to the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram All-Area team earlier this month. She was part of the 2007 and 2008 conference championship teams and has been selected to play at the WSCA-Masonic All-Star Game, which will be played this Saturday in Fond du Lac, Wis.

Cunningham plays for the St. Croix U19 C1 summer squad with current CSS players #Kaylee Gombold# (Stillwater, Minn.) and #Andrea Beatt# (Maple Grove, Minn.). They are coached by Kaylee's dad, Brad Gombold.

The duo rounds out the largest recruiting class in program history with a total 19 incoming athletes, including Malia Grosskreutz (Honomu, Hawaii/Waiakea HS (Lewis & Clark)), who transferred to CSS at mid-semester last school year.

Coach Reyelts needed to bring in a record class, considering what he had lost. A total of 15 players are gone, including 10 that played 20 or more games. The Saints also lost their top three goal-scorers and 74-percent of their scoring.

The Saints have won six straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season titles and three straight postseason crowns. CSS has not lost in 71 straight regular season conference contests.

St. Scholastica will begin its season against the same team that ended its run in the 2009 NCAA Tournament as Macalester College comes to town on September 1st. Be sure to keep an eye on csssaints.com throughout the summer for the latest women's soccer information.
