LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team is one of just 75 NCAA Division III volleyball programs to have earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 season; it was announced on Tuesday.

The Saints, who captured the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament championship last season, had the best team grade-point-average in the conference at 3.52. They also had a total of 10 athletes make academic all-conference.

Two other UMAC schools also received recognition by the AVCA: Martin Luther and Northwestern College.
