HOFMANN TAKES ASSISTANT POSITION AT USHL’S TRI-CITY

| By:
DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica men's hockey assistant coach Lenny Hofmann has accepted a similar position with the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

The USHL is considered to be the best Junior A League in all of North America. Hofmann's duties will mainly include working with forwards, film work, and helping to oversee scouting and recruiting.

“I look at this move as a great opportunity and the next step in my coaching career,” Hofmann said. “I would like to thank everyone at St. Scholastica, especially the athletic department and admissions for making my two years at CSS very memorable!”

The Tri-City Storm is based out of Kearney, Neb. The Storm made the USHL playoffs last season, before falling to Omaha in the quarterfinals.

“Lenny did a great job for us in his two years here, head coach Mark Wick said. “He was very instrumental in our last two recruiting classes, in which, we feel were very strong. He will certainly be missed here, but it is a great coaching opportunity for him and we wish him nothing but the best of luck.”

The Saints announced last week the hiring of former University of Minnesota-Duluth head coach Mike Sertich to the coaching staff for the upcoming season on a volunteer basis.
