DULUTH, Minn. – Minnetonka's
Brenna Flatley (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS), Cretin-Derham Hall's
Michelle Fischer (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) and Champlin Park's
Shelby Schuenke (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) will look to keep opponents in check this inaugural season for the St. Scholastica women's hockey team.
Flatley was an honorable mention All-State selection last season after scoring five goals and recording 10 assists, leading Minnetonka to its first 20-win season and a conference title. Flatley was also a two-time all-conference selection for the Skippers.
Fischer was a three-sport star at Cretin-Derham hall. Like Flatley, Fischer was an honorable mention All-State selection and a two-time all-conference choice for the Raiders. She also captured the Hobey Baker Character Award and was named Pioneer Press and Star-Tribune Athlete of the Week. She tallied 27 goals and 20 assists last season and netted 52 goals in her career. Fischer was an honorable mention all-conference choice in soccer and a two-time All-State, three-time all-conference selection in lacrosse.
Schuenke was captain of the Champlin Park squad last season. Schuenke also collected the Hobey Baker Character Award and the Rebel Award.
The Saints will play their first game on November 5th at Mars Lakeview Arena against Augsburg College.
