DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica head men's and women's track & field coach
Kirk Nauman has selected
Todd Bouchie to be the first full-time assistant coach for the CSS track & field program.
Bouchie had been a part-time assistant for the Saints since the 2005 season, coaching the throwers and high jumpers. During that span, the Saints have broken 15 of the 16 events that Bouchie has coached. They also earned numerous individual and team Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championships, many all-conference awards, broken several conference records, UMAC Athlete of the Week awards and one national provisional qualification (#Alec Seeley# last year).
“I've had a great time over the last six seasons coaching at CSS, and I really appreciate all the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes I have coached during my tenure here,” Bouchie said. “I am grateful for the opportunity given me by head coach
Kirk Nauman and Athletic Director
Don Olson. I'm excited about now being able to work with so many talented students and staff members in a full-time capacity and helping to build a great track & field tradition at CSS. Finally, I would like to give a big thank-you to my wife, Jenny, for being so supportive while I worked toward my goals.”
Prior to coming over to CSS, Bouchie coached for seven years (two as a head coach, five as an assistant) at Cloquet High School. As the throwing coach for the Lumberjacks, he guided six throwers to the Minnesota State Track & field Championship meet, had multiple conference champions, and one school record holder.
“I am happy to have Todd join our staff on a full-time basis,” Nauman said. “He's done a great job developing our throwers and high jumpers over the past six seasons. I look forward to working with him on continuing to build on our current achievements, while also creating new opportunities for success.”
Bouchie was a member of the 1996 and '97 University of Minnesota-Duluth track & field teams that captured the indoor and outdoor Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championships both years. He was the indoor NSIC shot put champion in 1996. Bouchie graduated from UMD in 1998 with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education Teaching.
He currently lives in Cloquet with his wife Jenny and 2-year-old daughter Alex.
