This Week in the UMAC
ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Scholastica volleyball players #Paige Hardy# and #Sarah Kurtovich#, along with football player #Chas Lemon# have been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Players of the Week in their respective sports; it was announced today.
Hardy was named the conference's volleyball offensive player of week after helping the Saints to a 4-0 record at the Gustavus Classic over the weekend. Hardy was named to the all-tournament team, marking the second straight week she received such accolades. In the four wins for the Saints, Hardy had 44 kills, averaging 3.14 kills per set. She also recorded five service aces, and led the team with 20 digs vs. Gustavus Adolphus.

Sarah Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) was named the UMAC Setter of the Week. Kurtovich averaged 10.4 assists per set and also had 10 kills and 41 digs in the four matches.
Chas Lemon (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) was named the conference defensive player of the week after registering 2.5 sacks and forced fumble in football's 38-31 victory over Eureka on Saturday. Lemon was part of a defense that forced seven turnovers and held the Red Devils to just 88 yards of total offense in the second half.
