DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team came back from a pair of two-goal deficits to down Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) rival Marian University by a 4-3 final when #Michelle Rebeck# scored 1:16 into overtime at Mars Lakeview Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints improve to 7-9-1 on the season (5-6-1 NCHA), while dropping the Sabres to an 0-15-1 mark (0-11-0 NCHA).

Marian jumped out on St. Scholastica early with Jackie Parvey netting a goal just 13 seconds into the first with assists from Devan Lesch and Alex Jewett. Jewett then came back to put the Sabres up 2-0 later in the period with an unassisted tally of her own.

CSS pulled within one when #Keri Pickel# scored her second goal in as many games with just over two minutes remaining in the first. #Libby Guzzo# and #Jana Henry# had the assists.

The score held through the intermission, but just four minutes into the second period, Devan Lesch netted an unassisted score to extend the Sabres' lead to 3-1.

The Saints battled through a pair of Marian powerplays in the second and were able to hold the score into the third period.

Just three minutes into the third, #Monika Waidacher# brought the Saints back within one with her second of the year, with an assist by Rebeck.

St. Scholastica continued to battle and finally broke through at 14:14 of the third when #Kiana Leisz# skated the puck into the Sabres zone and flipped the puck into the net for an unassisted score while the rest of her team went off for a line change.

Despite a late penalty, CSS held on to the 3-3 score into the overtime period when just 1:16 in, Rebeck scored her second of the season with an assist from Henry to put the Saints over the top.

Goaltender #Kat Lydon# earned the victory in net, stopping 12 shots by Marian. Melissa Calder took the hard-luck loss, stopping 42 of the Saints' program-high 46 shots.

CSS finished with four penalties for eight minutes while Marian finished with five for ten. Both teams were scoreless in four powerplay opportunities.

The Saints will be in River Falls, Wis. next weekend to play a two-game series against unbeaten and second-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Friday night's game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
