NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team competed at the St. Olaf Invitational on Friday night and had one event winner and two school records broken.
First, one school record was broken by #Justin Hanson# in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.04 seconds to finish second in that event. The other record was broken by #Cyrus Beckwith# in the pole vault for the second consecutive meet, clearing a height of 14'-1.25” (4.30m). That was good enough for third, but the top collegiate performance.
Secondly, the event winner was #Peter Drinkwine# in the triple jump with a distance of 41'-9.25” (12.73m). Benjamin Carlson was third in that event with a leap of 36'-10.25” (11.23m).
#Tom Lyscio# finished third in the shot put, but was the top collegiate with a toss of 45'-1” (13.74m). He also finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 50' (15.26m).
In the 55-meter dash, #Addison Griffin# placed third with a time of 6.86 seconds. #Sherome Milon# finished right behind him in fourth in a time of 6.90 seconds.
The Saints will be back in Superior next Saturday to take part in the Border Battle, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior. CSS, UWS, UMD, Saint Mary's University, and Hamline University will also take part in the meet. Events begin at noon at the Marcovich Wellness Center.
