NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team had two wins and #Maggie Bair# once again broke an indoor hurdle record at the St. Olaf Invitational on Friday night.

The Saints were competing against the host, St. Olaf College, University of St. Thomas, and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

For the fourth straight meet, freshman Maggie Bair broke a hurdle record, this time the 55-meter hurdles in the preliminaries with a time of 8.51 seconds. That time is still one-hundredths of a second slower than her converted 60-meter hurdle time set last week. Bair then went on to win in the finals, despite clipping a hurdle. Bair would also finish second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 9'-6.25” (2.90m).

#Alec Seeley# was the other winner on the night, taking the weight throw with a toss of 48'-9” (14.86m). That just missed her school record by two-hundredths on a meter. #Brittnie Menze# and #Becky Huberty# finished third and fourth, respectively, with personal-best throws.

The 4x400-meter relay team of #Hallie Miller#, #Nikki Hughes#, #Katherine Mueller#, and #Christa Diedrich# placed third. Miller was also third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.93 seconds. Hughes was fourth in 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:12.11 seconds.

#Bre Lohn# was second in the high jump, clearing 4-11” (1.50m). #Rachel Miller# was also second in the triple jump with a distance of 34'-11.25” (10.65m). #Mariah Berg# was third in the long jump with a leap of 15'-9.5” (4.81m).

The Saints will be back in Superior next Saturday to take part in the Border Battle, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Events begin at noon at the Marcovich Wellness Center.
