HOUGHTON, Mich. – Senior #Waylon Manske# led the St. Scholastica men's Nordic skiing team with a sixth place finish in the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) men's 15km freestyle mass start, as part of the USSA SuperTour at the Michigan Tech ski trails on Sunday.
Manske finished 20th overall in the SuperTour field with a time of 42:41.5, won by Olympian and CXC Elite Team member, Garrott Kuzzy in a time of 39:38.5.
Northern Michigan University's Martin Banerud took top CCSA honors for the second day in a row, in a time of 41:03.5. Teammates Andy Liebner and Erik Soderman made it a perfect sweep for the Wildcats in second and third.
Sophomore #Jeremy Hecker# finished seventh for the second day in a row with a time of 43:18.7, while sophomore #Kelin Dunfee# rounded out the Saints scoring in 15th with a time of 44:37.3. The Saints finished third behind winner NMU's perfect score and Michigan Tech in second.
The Saints will have next weekend off before taking part in the CCSA Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan University in two weeks in Ishpeming, Mich.
