Five Men’s Track & Field Members earn UMAC Indoor Laurels

ST. PAUL – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team had five members named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field All-Conference team; it was announced on Wednesday.

#Luke Beckwith# earns All-UMAC honors for the first time after winning the pole vault at the conference championships. #Justin Hanson# earns All-UMAC indoor honors for the second consecutive year after winning the 55-meter hurdles on Saturday.

#Tom Lyscio# also earns all-conference accolades for the second consecutive year by winning the shot put and finishing second in the weight throw. Lyscio was named Co-Field Athlete of the Meet. #Nick Mangan# was the final event winner to be named All-UMAC after winning the 5,000-meter run.

#Nick Wanner# was the lone Saints male runner to be named all-conference without winning an event. Wanner finished third in the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, and was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed second.

To earn UMAC All-Conference status, track and field participants must accumulate 16 points throughout the meet's many events. St. Scholastica won the meet with 191 points, besting Minnesota-Morris by eight points in a race that came down to the final event. Northwestern took third place with 57 points, while North Central followed with 45.
