All-UMAC Release
ST. PAUL – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team had 15 members named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Conference team; it was announced on Wednesday.
After dominating the UMAC Indoor Championships on Sunday, winning 13 of the 16 events and accumulating 129 more points than the other three teams combined, the Saints were rewarded for their efforts today.
Earning All-UMAC honors for the second consecutive year after winning an event include #Mariah Berg# (4x200 relay), #Nikki Hughes# (4x400 relay), #Katherine Mueller# (4x400 relay), #Rachel Miller# (triple jump) and #Alec Seeley# (weight throw, shot put). Seeley was also named Female Field Athlete of the Meet for the second consecutive year.
First time All-UMAC selections that won events on Saturday include #Maggie Bair# (55m hurdles, 55m dash, 200m dash, pole vault), #Christa Diedrich# (4x200 relay), #Kaylee Gombold# (4x200 relay), #Shelbie Johnson# (4x400 relay), #Melissa Kempenich# (5,000m run), #Katie Kimm# (high jump), #Hallie Miller# (4x400m relay), #Tracy Perish# (400m dash, long jump), and #Katie Walrath# (4x200 relay). Bair was also named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet.
#Rachel Thelen# earns All-UMAC indoor accolades for the first time without winning an event on Saturday. Thelen placed second in both the 55-meter dash and the pole vault.
To earn UMAC All-Conference status, track and field participants must accumulate 16 points throughout the meet's many events.
