Three Saints Again Earn UMAC Honors

ST. PAUL –St. Scholastica track & field's Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) and Laurel Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS), along with men's basketball's Brett Tester (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) have been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports; it was announced on Tuesday.

This marks the second straight week the Saints have taken three of the possible four nominations for UMAC Player of the Week honors.

Lyscio is named UMAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week after winning the weight throw at Saturday's Blizzard Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Lyscio won with a toss of 50'-2.5" (15.30m), beating out second place by nearly three feet.









Ohaju is the UMAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week after winning a pair of events at the Blizzard Open. Ohaju won the 300-meter dash with a time of 43.81 seconds. Ohaju was also part of the sprint medley relay team that won the event and broke a program record, crossing the finish line in 4:31.65.








Tester is the UMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. In convincing home victories over the weekend, Tester led the team in scoring both games, averaging 18 points and six rebounds per contest. In Saturday's win over Northwestern College, Tester became the 10th Saint to reach 1,000 career points. CSS has now had the men's basketball conference player of the week the last four weeks.
