PREVIEW: Track and Field to Compete in Warren Bowlus Open on Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's and women's track & field teams will be in Menomonie, Wis. on Saturday taking part in the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

The Saints took part in the Blizzard Open, hosted by University of Wisconsin-Superior this past Saturday. The men were led by Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS), who won the weight throw with a distance of 15.30m. Laurel Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) had a nice day for the women, winning the 300-meter dash with a time of 43.81 seconds. Ohaju, along with teammates Mariah Berg (Bagley, Minn./Bagley HS), Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) and Nikki Hughes (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern HS) won the sprint medley relay with a program record time of 4:31.65.

Warren Bowlus Open
The last time the Saints competed at the Warren Bowlus Open was in 2008. The men's 4x200-meter relay team finished third on the day and set a then program record. On the women's side, the Saints finished first and second in the 5,000-meter run with Jessie Lovering capturing first and Katelyn Meger second.
