FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's cross country team placed 12th out of 29 teams in the Division III race of the 27th annual University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday.
The Saints finished with 332 points, just one point behind the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and ahead of teams like UW-Whitewater and Concordia College-Moorhead. UW-Eau Claire won the meet with 95 points. Wartburg College (Iowa) was second with 108 points and St. Olaf College was third with 116 points.
It was another top 10 finish for
Chelsea Johnson (North Branch, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) as she was sixth overall with a time of 22:38.
Kristen Gronbeck (Battle Lake, Minn./Battle Lake HS) was next in 74th overall with a time of 24:43.
Three freshmen completed the scoring for the Saints.
Liz Braml (Turtle Lake, Wis./Turtle Lake HS) was the third Saint to cross the finish line in 79th with a time of 24:52.
Kyla Krause (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) was 84th overall with a time of 24:59 and finally
Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was 89th with a time of 25:04.
Linda Keller from fellow UMAC School Minnesota Morris won the race with a time of 21:48.
The Saints will be in action next on October 13th when some members take part in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational, while the remaining runners will compete in the Pre-UMAC Meet in New Ulm.
