Capital One At-Large Academic All-District Teams
DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica men's tennis junior
Nick Lambrecht (Stacy, Minn./North Branch HS (Minn.-Duluth)) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capital One Academic All-District 6 Men's At-Large team on Thursday.
Lambrecht, who majors in biology, has a 3.98 grade-point average. The Stacy, Minn. native earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career this past season. He led the team with a program record 19 singles wins this season and went 7-2 in doubles play.
The at-large selections consists of the sports of tennis, ice hockey, golf, wrestling, lacrosse, skiing, swimming, gymnastics, fencing, rifle, water polo and men's volleyball.
Lambrecht is now eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
The Capital One Academic Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Athletes are nominated and selected by members of CoSIDA.
The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the second year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moves from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non Division I) and doubles the number of scholar-athletes honored. The teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
St. Scholastica is included in District 6 and includes NCAA Division III institutions from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
