DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica senior Kyle Jensen (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was named to the All-Midwest Region's First Team by D3baseball.com on Monday, while fellow senior Kyle Flagstad (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) and sophomore Mickie Keuning (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Angelo State)) earned second team accolades.

Jensen, who was named to the team as a pitcher, was CSS's No. 1 hurler this past season. He was the starter in St. Scholastica's two wins over a second-ranked University of St. Thomas squad, including last week's victory over the Tommies in the regional. For his efforts, Jensen was named to the Whitewater Regional All-Tournament team. Jensen also had strong outings against 12th-ranked Keystone College (Pa.) in Florida and vs. UW-La Crosse in the Metrodome.

Jensen was an all-region selection as a utility player last season by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). He was named first team All-UMAC for the third straight year last week after not allowing an earned run in conference play. He finished fifth in the UMAC with 46 strikeouts and holds the fourth-best career earned run average in program history at 2.01.

Flagstad is a second team selection after being named to the first team last season. The two-time UMAC Player of the Year finished second in the conference with a .391 batting average, 36 RBIs and led the league with 20 stolen bases, .616 slugging percentage and 52 runs scored.

Flagstad recorded six hits at last week's regional to earn him a spot on the Whitewater Regional All-Tournament team. He finished tied for the program record with 19 career triples. He is only the fourth player in program history to have a career batting average of .400 as he finished at .401.

Keuning earns all-region accolades of any kind for the first time in his career. Keuning led the conference with a 1.19 earned run average. He had strong outings in wins over #12 Keystone, Bethany Lutheran College and UW-Whitewater at last week's NCAA Regional. He allowed just six earned runs in 45.1 innings pitched, including allowing more than one earned run just once in 13 appearances/seven starts.
