LA CROSSE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica's Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) and Rachel Miller (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) were unable to reach the finals in each of their respective events on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Huberty, who became the first All-American in program history yesterday after placing fourth in the hammer throw, took part in the shot put today. She became the first CSS track & field athlete to compete in multiple events at the NCAA Championships.

Huberty would not foul on any of her three attempts and she did improve on each of her throws, but it would not be enough. She came into the Championships, seeded 20th and that is exactly where she would finish. Her first toss was 12.32m and her second attempt was 12.82m. Her final attempt was the one that counted with a distance of 42'3.25” (12.88m).

Miller was competing in her second NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump. The first time she qualified was in 2011 when she placed 13th in the event.

The senior from Hinckley also did not foul on any of her three attempts and also improved on each of her three jumps. Her first attempt was 10.89m and her second was 11.11m. Her final jump would be 37'2.5” (11.34m), which was good enough for 19th overall.

Huberty's five points she earned yesterday moved the Saints into tie for 44th place overall as a team. Over 70 teams were able to score in the meet.
