MSU Open Results
DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team took part in both the Yellowjacket Open in Superior and the Minnesota State Open in Mankato on Saturday.
Yellowjacket Open
Maggie Bair (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS) won the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.29.
Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) was second in that event at 9.59. Bair also placed fourth in the 60m dash, posting a time of 8.30.
Amy Campbell (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) won the 200m hurdles with a time of 30.40.
Rachael Hoium (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) won the triple jump with a mark of 33'7.5" (10.25m).
Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) once again swept the throwing events. Huberty won the shot put with a mark of 41'5.25" (12.63m). Her winning weight throw toss was 56'0" (17.07m).
Paige Muehlhauser (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) was second in the 800m run, finishing in 2:39.99.
Shelby Dugas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) placed third in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10'0.5" (3.06m).
Rachel Harmston (Cook, Minn./North Woods HS) led a quartet of Saints in the long jump, placing second with a mark of 16'3.25" (4.96m).
MSU Open
The Minnesota State Open consisted of mainly Division II programs. Eight Saints competed in Mankato.
For the second straight week,
Chelsea Johnson (North Branch, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) broke the program record in the 3000m run, placing second with a time of 10:13.64.
Bre Adams (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) also broke a program record for the second straight week, however this time it was in the 1000m run as she finished fourth with a time of 3:01.69.
Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) in fourth also broke the old program record, posting a time of 3:03.43.
The Saints will host the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Indoor Championships next Saturday in the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse. Action is slated to begin at noon.
