Men's Track & Field Competes at Last Chance Meets

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team took part in a pair of Last Chance meets in Illinois and Wisconsin on Thursday and Friday.

Dr. Keeler Invitational (Results)
Distance runners and throwers competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on Thursday, hosted by North Central College (Ill.)

Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) finished third in the 10,000m run with a time of 32:30.84. Jeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) was third in the hammer throw with a toss of 171'5" (52.25m). Peterson was also fifth in the discus toss with a mark of 153'2" (46.70m).

Eagle Open (Results)
On Friday, CSS athletes competed at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Charlie Habermann (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) was runner-up in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:35.18. He missed his own program record by four-hundredths of a second. Mike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.76.

Peterson was also sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 174'1" (53.07m). Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) was eighth in the 1,500m run, posting a time of 4:01.46.

The Saints will have Kevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) competing back at North Central at the Gregory Multi's on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. The rest of the Saints will be back in La Crosse next Thursday for the UW-La Crosse Qualifier.
