Notables-Christianson has won the high jump and triple jump in all three meets she has competed in this season-CSS won five events on the day
MENOMONIE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team took part in the University of Wisconsin-Stout Open on Saturday.
Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) kept rolling along in the high jump and triple jump, winning both events. Christianson won the high jump clearing a season-high 5'5" (1.65m). She then set a personal record for the second consecutive meet in the triple jump with a winning mark of 36'4" (11.07m).
Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) won the 800m run for the second straight week with a time of 2:22.16.
Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) and
Emily Lundgren (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) were third and fourth in that event.
Also winning for the second straight week was
Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) in the 3,000m run as she defeated the field by 30 seconds with a time of 10:52.94. Teammate
Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was second.
The 4x400m relay team of
Maggie Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS), Lundgren, Mogren and
Nicole Young (Amery, Wis./Amery HS) won with a time of 4:16.11.
Heidi Carlson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) was runner-up in the mile run, finishing in 5:52.99.
Molly Burgstahler (Sandpoint, Idaho/Sandpoint HS) was third three seconds back.
Sammi Argir (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS) was third in the 60m dash, posting a time of 8.16.
Katharine Roetering (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 10'0.5" (3.06m).
Danielle Dickson (Roseville, Minn./Totino Grace HS/Roseville HS) was also fourth in the long jump with a leap of 15'6.25" (4.73m).
The Saints will be in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan next Saturday taking part in the Northern Challenge, hosted by Northern Michigan University.
