DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the second straight home meet, St. Scholastica senior
Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) set a program record, doing so in the 800m run at the Lake Superior Challenge in the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Buske set the program record in the 800m run with a winning time of 2:18.37. She also set the program record in the 300m dash in The Opener back in December.
Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was victorious the 1000m run finishing in 3:07.63.
Amy Campbell (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) and
Emily Lundgren (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) swept the top two spots in the 600m dash with Campbell posting a winning time of 1:40.22. That time was also a personal-best.
The 4x400m relay team of
Sammi Argir (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS), Campbell,
Breanna Shofner (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) and Buske won in a time of 4:06.20. CSS' other relay team of
Nicole Young (Amery, Wis./Amery HS), Lundgren, Mogren and
Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) was third 10 seconds back.
Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) once again won the high jump, clearing 5'3.25" (1.61m).
Rachael Hoium (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) was runner-up in the triple jump with a mark of 34'9" (10.59m).
Nicole Young (Amery, Wis./Amery HS) was third in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.73.
Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was third in the 5000m run with a time of 19:11.87.
Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) was also third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.63.
Olivia Krejcarek (Manitowoc, Wis./Manitowoc Roncalli HS) was third in the pole vault, clearing 10'0" (3.05m).
The Saints will be at a pair of meets next weekend with a portion traveling to Brookings, South Dakota and taking part in the South Dakota State Invite, while the rest will remain in the Twin Ports and compete at the Yellowjacket Open, hosted by UW-Superior.
