Notables-Peterson's record-breaking hammer throw is ranked second in NCAA Division III
ST. PETER, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team took part in the Lee Krough Invitational, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday.
Record BreakersJeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) broke the program record in the hammer throw, winning the event with a mark of 189'3" (57.68m). That mark is currently second best in NCAA Division III and already puts him in great position for the outdoor championships.
WinnersKevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) won the 110m hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.16.
Top FinishersPeterson was second in both the shot put and discus throw with a shot put mark of 47'1.75" (14.37m) and a discus mark of 148'4" (45.22m).
Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) was runner-up in the 800m run, posting a time of 1:58.00.
Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) finished fourth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:15.22.
Mike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was also fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.95.
Tony Anselmo (Bigfork, Minn./Bigfork HS ) was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18'6.5" (5.65m).
Ryan Murphy (Spooner, Wis./Spooner HS) was fourth in the discus throw with a personal-best toss of 140'3" (42.76m) and fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 153'1" (46.65m).
Corey Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown HS) was sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 41'0.25" (12.50m).
Adam Wallenta (Eagan, Minn./Farmington HS) was sixth in the 5,000m finishing in 17:16.78.
Tony Moga (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) was seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 54.69.
Up NextSome members will compete at the Phil Esten Challenge on Thursday and Friday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, while others will compete at the Holst Invitational next Saturday, hosted by Concordia University-St. Paul.
