MORRIS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team captured its fourth consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championship on Saturday.
 
Points Breakdown
After Friday's events, St. Scholastica led with 102 points. The University of Minnesota Morris was second with 69 points. The University of Northwestern was third with 37 points and Bethany Lutheran College was fourth with 35 points. Martin Luther College was fifth with 30 points.
 
At the end of the meet on Saturday, the Saints won with a point total of 239 points. Minnesota Morris was in second with 119 points. Northwestern third with 107 points. Bethany Lutheran was fourth with 84 points and Martin Luther fifth with 63 points.
 
Record Breakers
On Friday, Kevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) was second in the 200m dash with a program-record time of 22.53.
 
On Saturday, the 4x400m relay team of Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS), Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS), Mike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) and Wagner won with a program record and UMAC meet record time of 3:25.25.
 
Jeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) won the shot put with a program record and UMAC meet record mark of 49'0.25" (14.94m).
 
Winners on Friday
Wagner won the pole vault, clearing a personal-best height of 13'7.25" (4.15m). Wagner also won the javelin with a personal-best throw of 160'2" (48.81m). Naumann won the 400m hurdle race with a personal-best time of 56.46. Alex Horoshak (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors HS) took the long jump crown, leaping 21'5.5" (6.54m).
 
Peterson won the hammer throw with a UMAC meet record toss of 182'9" (55.71m).
 
Winners on Saturday
Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) won the 1,500m run, posting a time of 4:05.88. He also won the 5,000m run finishing in 16:03.75. Wagner won the 110m hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.29.
 
Peterson won the discus with a UMAC meet record toss of 150'5" (45.86m).
 
Top Finishers on Friday
Wagner was runner-up in the 100m dash with a time of 11.13. Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) was second in the 800m run with a time of 1:57.78. Mason Gracia (Houston, Texas/Prior Lake HS) was third in that event. Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was runner-up in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 56.60.
 
Ryan Murphy (Spooner, Wis./Spooner HS) was second in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 167'10" (51.15m). Corey Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown HS) was third in the long jump with a mark of 20'4.25" (6.20m).
 
Top Finishers on Saturday
The 4x100m relay team of Tony Anselmo (Bigfork, Minn./Bigfork HS ), Naumann, Egelkraut and Tony Moga (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) were second with a time of 44.89.
 
McKenzie was runner-up in the 1,500m run coming in at 4:09.21. Anderson was second in the high jump, clearing 6'2.75" (1.90m). Horoshak was second in the triple jump with a mark of 42'3.25" (12.88m). Anderson was third in that event.
 
Wagner was third in the discus with a personal-best toss of 129'2" (39.36m). Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) was third in the 5000m run with a time of 16:50.07.
 
Up Next
The Saints will start the first round of last chance qualifiers and will be at the Eagle Open on Friday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
