LA CROSSE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's and women's track & field teams sent 23 competitors to the Eagle Open Friday night, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Record BreakersJeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) broke his own program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 192'9" (58.75m) to place third in the event. He also set a program record in the discus toss with a mark of 161'2" (49.12m) to finish fifth in the event.
Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) set the program record in the 3,000m steeplechase, posting a time of 11:24.09 to place fifth overall.
Top Finishers Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) was runner-up in the high jump, clearing a height of 5'5.75" (1.67m), matching a season-best.
Amy Campbell (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) was fourth in the 400m hurdles finishing in 1:04.67.
Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) placed sixth in the 200m dash with a personal-best time of 26.03.
The 4x400m relay team of Campbell,
Emily Lundgren (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS),
Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) and Buske was fifth with a time of 4:01.89.
Sammi Argir (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS) was seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 12.58.
Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) was eighth in the 5,000m run with a time of 16:12.76.
Mike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was ninth in the 400m hurdles finishing at 58.11.
Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was 10
th in that event.
Kevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) was ninth in the long jump with a leap of 21'2.75" (6.47m).
Lundgren was eighth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.81.
Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) finished ninth in the 800m run with a time of 2:19.73.
Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) was 10
th in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:47.51.
Up NextThe Saints may have some compete at the Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Illinois on Thursday-Friday, May 14-15 and at the Augustana (Ill.) Invitational on Friday, May 15. Most of the others will be back in La Crosse for the UW-La Crosse Qualifier on Thursday, May 14.
