csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team began its indoor season on Saturday with "The Opener" at the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse.
Russert in Pentathlon
Senior
Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) actually began her season on Friday night with the Pentathlon competition. Russert would finish in second place in the five competitor field with a personal-best score of 2908.
As part of the event, Russert won the 60m hurdles with a career-best time of 9.24. She would also take first in the shot put with a mark of 31'1" (9.47m).
Other Top Performances on Saturday
Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) placed fourth in the 600m run with a time of 1:41.80.
Suntina Spehar (Duluth, Minn., Esko HS) was fifth in the high jump, clearing 4'11.5" (1.51m).
Rachel Hudacek (Ironwood, Mich., Luther L. Wright HS) was sixth in the high jump, clearing 4'7.5" (1.41m).
Kaylie King (Roseville, Minn., Roseville HS) was fifth in the pole vault, clearing 9'0.25" (2.75m).
Emily Conley (Marinette, Wis./Marinette HS) also placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 37'6.75" (11.45m).
Julianna French (Grand Rapids, Minn., Grand Rapids HS) was seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 1:07.98.
