Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) finished her career on Friday by placing 17
th in the high jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Wartburg College.
Christianson entered the competition tied for the sixth-best mark (1.70m) in the event this season. She would clear 1.57m and 1.62m, but would fail to clear 1.66m to finish 17
th.
She cleared 1.57m on her third attempt and 5'3.75" (1.62m) on her second attempt to put her in 17
th. Molly McGraw of Illinois Wesleyan University won the title, clearing 5'9.25" (1.76m).
This was the second consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championship for Christianson in the high jump. She also competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships twice in the high jump and both times earned All-America accolades.
She is only one of two St. Scholastica women's track & field athletes to be a multi-time All-American.
