csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team took part in the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday.
Heptathlon
Kenneth Jinkins (Eagan, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) and
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) competed in the Heptathlon, which actually began on Friday. Jinkins had top three finishes in the 60m dash, long jump and shot put on Friday and was fourth with 2,638 points after day one. Cerar was in eighth with 2,303 points.
On Saturday, Cerar cleared a personal-best height in the pole vault, clearing 12'6" (3.81m). He also ran a personal-best time in the 1000m at 3:07.98.
Jinkins finished fifth overall with 4,397 points and Cerar was eighth with 4,120 points. Cerar's point total was over 500 points better than last year at this meet.
Gallagher Wins 5000m
On Saturday, senior
Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) won the 5000m run, posting a time 15:35.30.
