SUPERIOR, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team won three events on Saturday at the Yellowjacket Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Winners
Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) won for the second straight weekend, taking home the 400m crown in a time of 1:01.18.
Sammi Argir (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS) won the 200m dash with a season-best time of 27.14.
The 4x400m relay team of Argir,
Breanna Shofner (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS),
Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) and Gibson beat the rest of the field by nine seconds with a winning time of 4:14.43.
Other Top Performances
Anna Nelson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) was second in the mile run with a season-best time of 5:48.55.
Russert was third in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 9.44. She was also fifth in the long jump with a season-best leap of 16'1.75" (4.92m) and in the high jump, clearing 4'9.5" (1.46m).
Shofner placed third in the 200m dash at 27.56.
Anika Kling (Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) was fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 8.42.
Elizabeth Poskie (Cotton, Minn./South Ridge HS) came home fourth in the 3000m run, posting a time of 11:22.37.
Emily Conley (Marinette, Wis./Marinette HS) placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 36'4.75" (11.09m).
Brittany Ludwig (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 43'6.5" (13.27m).
