csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team hosted the 10
th annual Lake Superior Challenge on Saturday in the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse.
Gibson Wins the 800m
Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) won the 800m run, posting a time of 2:20.74. She shaved off two seconds from her time at last week's Warren Bowlus Open.
Top Performances
Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) was runner-up in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 9.40. Russert also had a third place finish in the high jump, clearing 5'1" (1.55m).
The 4x400m relay team of
Sammi Argir (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS), Gibson,
Jacqueline Kaplan (Elysian, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS) and
Emily Namyst (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) was also second with a time of 4:18.21. Individually, Argir placed fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:03.04.
Natalie St. Marie (St. Francis, Minn./St. Francis HS) was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 35'10.75" (10.94m).
Emily Conley (Marinette, Wis./Marinette HS) was eighth in that event with a mark of 34'10.5" (10.63m).
Brittany Ludwig (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) returned to competition from year hiatus and was ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 40'11.5" (12.48m).

The Saints will head across the bridge next Saturday to take part in the Yellowjacket Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
