Coach Chastey enters his fifth season as the head coach of the Saints in 2009. He was first hired at St. Scholastica in the summer of 2003 as the head men’s and women’s junior varsity coach and assistant to both varsity programs before moving into the head coaching position for the 2005 season.

Under the direction of Chastey, the Saints claimed the UMAC Tournament Championship, while finishing with a record of 13-8-0 in 2006. They followed that season up by going 17-4-0 in 2007, including a perfect 14-0 UMAC record to earn the team the UMAC Regular Season Championship and Chastey the title of UMAC Coach of the Year. Again in 2008, Chastey’s record was 15-5-2 to earn the team the UMAC Regular Season Championship. In just four seasons with the Saints, Chastey has coached 23 UMAC All-Conference honorees, 19 UMAC Academic All-Conference student-athletes and five NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Chastey hails from England where he built his coaching philosophy in working with both youth and adult teams for six years. In addition to his coaching experience, Chastey expanded his knowledge of soccer through playing the game for twenty years, including six years of semi-professional soccer.

Upon first moving to the United States, Chastey spent three years working as an assistant in the highly successful Duluth East High School girls’ soccer program. Currently, Chastey is also the coaching director of the Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club, where he works to develop both the coaches and the players within the competitive summer soccer club.

Chastey lives in Duluth with his wife Kelly, a teacher in the Duluth school district, and their two sons Keegan (6) and Parker (4).

Robinson is in his fifth season on the men’s soccer staff. Coach Robinson was born in Liverpool, England where had the pleasure of watching the dominating Reds collect numerous European Cups throughout his formative days on Merseyside. Whilst in England he played for, and graduated from the Royal Air Force with a degree in Electronics and communications.

Robinson has coached with the Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club for past 13 years where he has helped to develop numerous young Duluth soccer players. He also led the Cloquet Girls High School team to two State tournaments in three years following their back to back Section 7A championship seasons. Coach Chastey adds, "His love and understanding of the game has made Dave one of the best coaches in the area. I am very excited to have him on our staff."

Coach Robinson continues to work on the development of soccer for both players and coaches within Minnesota. He is a member of the ODP player identification staff and an instructor for the coaches National Youth License. Locally he is on the AYSA, and the Denfeld Soccer boards.

Coach Robinson has lived in Duluth with his wife Kim for 22 years. They have two teenage sons Andrew and Alex.


Morgan MacLean, Head JV Coach

MacLean begins his fifth season as the assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach. A local graduate from Duluth East High School, MacLean played four years with the Greyhound varsity program but suffered a career-ending injury following his senior campaign.

Morgan stepped across the sideline directly into a coaches role after high school as he joined the highly successful Greyhound girls’ program where he led the ninth grade squad for three years while assisting with the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.

He then coached in the Marshall School boy's program for a season before joining St. Scholastica the following year.

MacLean leads the Saints JV program along with helping both the men's and women's programs with recruiting. In the summer, he coaches for the Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club.

Coach Harkins started the men’s soccer program here at St. Scholastica in 1978, later becoming the Head coach of the women’s program in 1994.  He finished his five year reign leading both the men and women with a combined record of 64-52-4 and twice was named UMAC coach of the year. Coach Chastey recognizes that "to have a guy with this much experience and knowledge offering his time is a huge blessing for this program."

Coach Harkins holds the USSF B License and played for the Madison 56ers in his day. He was also a member of the USA Ski Team.  His area of expertise lies in the ski jump. 

Kenny and his wife Char are proud parents of Carl, Lisa and Siri.
