Christian Butler

Christian Butler is entering his third season with the Saints.

Butler is an accomplished basketball coach with a strong commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. With a rich coaching background, Butler most recently served as the Men’s Basketball Interim Head Coach for the 2024-2025 season, after being an assistant coach at CSS during the 2023-2024 season. During his interim tenure, Butler increased the Saints win total by 6 games and coached up MIAC All-Conference member Aaron Keykal and oversaw the Saints improvement in the classroom, with three team members earning CSC Academic All-District and MIAC Academic All-Conference. Prior to that, he spent three years at Aurora University (2020-2023), where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the team's competitive edge.

Butler began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Montana State University Billings from 2018 to 2020. During his first year, he helped lead the Yellowjackets to their first winning season in five years, demonstrating his capacity for fostering success and building a winning culture. Over his six years as an assistant coach, Butler has guided nine players to pursue professional basketball careers.

As a relationship-driven coach, Butler's primary goal is to help each of his players reach their full potential and achieve their aspirations. His passion for the game, coupled with his focus on mentorship, positions him as an inspiring leader for the men’s basketball program.
